testgrinder Configuration

An overview of testgrinder deployment configuration

testgrinder service will be discontinued on January 31, 2025

testgrinder SMPC was discontinued as of February 1, 2024

This describes how and from where testgrinder reads its configuration settings. You may skim through this section on your first read and come back later when you are deploying testgrinder.

There are two places from which testgrinder reads its configuration settings:

  • Configuration Files

    • located in the /home/testgrinder/tg-app/config/provision directory on each tg-app server

    • on initial launch, tg-app server will generate a set of configuration files with suitable defaults which you can use as a starting point

    • once you finalize the configuration files you can package them into a file in User Data format, copy it to a secure location off the tg-app server, and use it as User Data parameter when launching tg-app servers in the future

    • if User Data is provided to tg-app on launch, tg-app will expand it into a set of configuration files in the /home/testgrinder/tg-app/config/provision directory

  • Database Stored Settings

    • hosts settings that are shared by all tg-app servers
